about project red (rot)

In the project “Red”, I was photographed while changing the position of certain red objects which I observed as a painting and which are influenced by the work of Russian Suprematism and such artists as Robert Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns. I also destroyed the painting on the wall and created a new one. It was important to show the different varieties of composition and thus the possibilities offered by different outcomes, thereby demonstrating in my work the refusal to concentrate on a particular result, but rather to present all that is possible. Each photo was a completed picture, which represented the work process. The border between finished work and the work process had disappeared. I also represented myself as a moving object in picture. This project was dealing with different stages and directions of painting such as Naïve Art, Pop Art, Suprematism, Abstract Expressionism and Minimalism. In this project, just the color red was used in order to show all clichés of this particular color.
